As mentioned, wood is saturated with natural oils, and over time, exposure to sunlight can dry out these oils, causing the wood to develop a grayish hue. Therefore, to restore its natural color, it should be lightly treated with a wood preservative and a more durable oil appropriate for the type of wood. The frequency of treatment depends on the location and sun exposure of the furniture (approximately two to three times per year). Additionally, covering your garden furniture when not in use is the best way to protect it.
